Dye-Penetrant Testing

Dye-Penetrant testing involves applying a visible or fluorescent dye to the surface. The dye enters the discontinuities via capillary action. The method can be applied to any non-absorbent material with uncoated surfaces.

The DPT course is presented in a manner that promotes understanding and the ability to make immediate application. This is an excellent course for NDT trainees who want to have Level I and II training in order to qualify for certification as well as facility personnel who are responsible for or oversee the application of Liquid Penetrant Testing.

Candidates will have the opportunity to use the various techniques on welds, castings and wrought products whilst gaining detailed theoretical and extensive practical knowledge on all the commonly encountered penetrant testing techniques. These courses meet and exceed the requirements of SNT-TC-1A of ASNT for Level-1 and Level-2.
