Working at Heights

This training program includes the planning, organization and execution of any work done at heights, to ensure the safety and health of workers in the activities carried out over two meters in height, or any activity where there is risk of falling. Enable professionals to identify, plan and authorize the release for entry in height based working areas in order to assess, monitor and control the risks to ensure the safety and health of people who take part directly and indirectly in this task. This uniquely designed Work at Height training course helps participants to understand the International regulations related to working at height as well as provides necessary information needed to be able to successfully mitigate working at height risks and implement control measures. It emphasizes on an understanding of carrying out working at height risk assessment, safe use access equipment and monitoring to ensure that employees can reduce their risk of falls from height, adopting preventive and protective measures, rescue procedures in cases of emergency.

Program Details

To complete the Working at Heights training you must complete the training in person. This training course consists of 2 main modules that must be included in an approved working at heights training program. Here is the breakdown of each of the modules:

Anyone who works at height in any place, including a place at or below ground level, is required to undertake training to prove that they are competent and safe in their work. Anyone that is involved in the planning, supervision or management of work at a height.


  • Module – 1
  • (Basic Theory) is knowledge and awareness based and is a minimum of three hours long. It includes foundational elements on how to work safely at heights and covers topics such as:
  • Knowing rights and responsibilities related to working at heights
  • Warning methods and physical barriers
  • Identifying hazards of working at heights (focus on safety culture)
  • Basic introduction to PPE theory
  • Understanding the hierarchy of controls and limitations of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ladder safety
  • Module – 2
  • (Practical) contains more advanced information on fall protection systems and includes a hands-on demonstration of equipment and procedures. It is a minimum of three and a half hours long and includes a practical demonstration of the proper use of fall protection equipment. This module also covers topics such as:
  • Work access equipment and platforms
  • Barriers and other fixed equipment
  • Rescue planning
  • Anchor points
  • Fall PPE (travel restraint, fall arrest systems, and fall restricting)
